Bouwaqa Primary School

Bouwaqa Primary School is at Teci in the Yasawa Islands, with 50 students and 4 teachers.

In 2026 we installed a 9 kW solar array with 26.4 kWh of battery storage, bringing 24-hour power to the classrooms and teachers' homes. Starlink internet, laptops and smart TVs came with it, opening up online learning for students and teachers.

The school was funded through the Australian Government's REnew Pacific program. The system is part of The Solar Fund (Fiji), which monitors it and pays for its servicing and repairs, so it keeps working long after the installers have gone.
