Kabara District School is in Kabara Village on Kabara Island, in the Lau Group, with 39 students and 5 teachers. It is one of three schools on Kabara that we powered in 2026.

The school now has a 9 kW solar array and 26.4 kWh of battery storage, giving the classrooms and teachers' homes 24-hour power. The school also received Starlink internet, laptops and smart TVs.

The school was funded through the Australian Government's REnew Pacific program. The system is part of The Solar Fund (Fiji), which monitors it and pays for its servicing and repairs, so it keeps working long after the installers have gone.
