Narocake District School is on Gau Island, in the Lomaiviti Group, with 72 students and 4 teachers. Some of its students board at the school in two hostels. It is one of eight schools on Gau that we powered in 2026.

A 9 kW solar array and 39.6 kWh of battery storage now power the classrooms, teachers' homes and hostels around the clock, and a freezer for the hostels means food for the boarders can be stored safely.

The system is part of The Solar Fund (Fiji), which monitors it and pays for its servicing and repairs, so it keeps working long after the installers have gone.
