Navatu Secondary School, on Vanua Levu, was our third installation, in 2010. Its 3 kW system powered the classrooms and offices until 2016, when a major international project upgraded the main dirt road and brought grid power in from the town of Savusavu.
It was a relatively short service life, but the solar system helped a generation of students through high school until grid power arrived.
The project was funded by many sponsors, above all through a fundraising dinner supported by journalist and former Wallaby Peter FitzSimons and fellow Wallabies Adam Freier and Clyde Rathbone.
