Ratu Namasi Memorial School is at Nabukeru in the Yasawa Islands. It is a small school, with 25 students and 5 teachers.
Its 8 kW solar array and 19.8 kWh of battery storage, installed in 2026, keep the classrooms and teachers' homes powered around the clock. The school also received Starlink internet, laptops and smart TVs.
The school was funded through the Australian Government's REnew Pacific program. The system is part of The Solar Fund (Fiji), which monitors it and pays for its servicing and repairs, so it keeps working long after the installers have gone.
