Vanuaso District School is on Gau Island, in the Lomaiviti Group, with 59 students and 5 teachers. It is one of eight schools on Gau that we powered in 2026.

The school now has a 9 kW solar array and 26.4 kWh of battery storage, giving the classrooms and teachers' homes 24-hour power.

The system is part of The Solar Fund (Fiji), which monitors it and pays for its servicing and repairs, so it keeps working long after the installers have gone.
